Graded by hand We grade to the weakest volume in the box, never the best.
Complete means complete If a run is partial or an assorted lot, the listing says so up front.
Bindings stated Hardcover, trade, or mass market — and we say when a set mixes them.
Sent tracked Boxed properly, because sets are heavy and corners matter.

How grading works

What each grade actually means

Five grades, and we grade to the weakest volume in the box rather than the best one.

New — unread, no shelf wear. Like New — read once at most, no marks. Very Good — light wear to corners or spine, clean inside. Good — visible shelf wear, possibly a previous owner's name, text unaffected. Acceptable — well used and clearly so, but complete and readable.

Every listing also carries a note describing the specific wear on that set.
